Amy began goldsmithing while at school, where she took evening classes in silver jewellery design.  She went on to study Modern  Languages in Oxford,   where she continued to develop her design and technical skills alongside her academic studies.  Following explorations into medieval methods of smelting and forging in France, Amy moved to Germany where she studied traditional goldsmithing techniques under Arnaldo Desirò at the Berufskolleg für Schmuck, Design und Gerät in Schwäbisch Gmünd, before returning to the UK to continue her studies at the Sir John Cass School of Art and Design, London and to work for a designer-maker.  She now works from her home studio in Islington.
